You may not know this, but I have a list.
I keep a running list of "Birch Blooms Must Dos".
This list includes venues I want to work at, photographers I want to work with, or flowers I want to incorporate in my designs. This year has been incredible, and I have had the chance to check off a lot of items on my 'list'.
This couple helped me check off TWO "Birch Blooms Must Dos".
Meet Karen and Stephen.
Aren't they lovely?
First item I was able to check off my list -
Karen and Stephen held their reception right among the dinosaur bones. It was an incredible site! During the set up for the reception, a horrible thunderstorm came rolling in, which we had a great view of with those glass ceilings! I felt like I was in a movie.... I am sure you can guess which one :)
Second item I was able to check off my list:
I first met Heidi at The Not Wedding in 2009. She had a table with some wedding albums showcasing her work, and I was just drooling over her photos. I added working with her to my 'list' right then and there.
Isn't her work amazing?
Not only did a I get to check two items off my 'list', I had the chance to be part of an amazing wedding! The first thing I noticed about Karen and Stephen was how much in love they are.
They acted so kind and sweet to each other during our meeting.
With a bold venue like the Fernbank Museum, they had to choose a bold color palette. They went with fuchsia and royal blue! For the flowers, that meant lush hot pink blooms!
One of my favorite flower photos!
Karen's bouquet featured dark pink hydrangeas, hot pink princess roses, fuchsia dahlias, and white calla lilies.
The bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets of dark pink hydrangeas, hot pink princess roses and fuchsia dahlias wrapped with white satin ribbon accented with blue 'corset style' ribbon.
This was such a spectacular wedding, and I am just so thrilled I was able to be part of it! A few more pictures:
Another picture of the reception.
Psst. I almost titled this post "Florasaurus". I know... cheesy. Super cheesy. I just love those dinosaurs!!!
Thank you Karen and Stephen for letting me be part of your Happily Ever After!
I will leave you with this incredible shot:
awww... swoon.
